Our management team is a highly skilled group of professionals with more than thirty years of combined industry experience who share a common passion to improve the overall quality of healthcare. We have a broad range of direct involvement in various aspects of the healthcare industry, case management, quality improvement, and informatics. The talent, focus, and experience of our management team gives CredenceHealth a truly unique ability to address industry needs and to provide innovative solutions. Beyond our passion to improve the overall quality of healthcare, we also share a passion for giving back to our local community. Members of our team sit on the boards of multiple non-profit organizations dedicated to improving the greater Nashville community, today and into the future.

Steven I. Geringer – Chairman of the Board and Operating Partner

As Chairman of the Board, Steve brings years of executive healthcare experience to CredenceHealth. Steve also serves as Chairman of Amsurg Corporation (NASDAQ: AMSG); Chairman of Qualifacts Systems, Inc.; a director of CCRx and of Addus HomeCare Corporation; and, is a member of the Executive Board of Cressey and Co., a private equity firm. He retired as President and CEO of PCS Health Systems, Inc., a pharmacy benefits manager, now part of CVS/Caremark, a position he attained when Clinical Pharmaceuticals, Inc., of which he was a Founder, Chairman and CEO, was acquired by PCS. Prior to then, Steve held senior management positions in the hospital management and managed care industries.

Justin W. Lanning – President and CEO / Founder

As a founder of CredenceHealth, Justin’s knowledge, experience, and proven track record in helping clients achieve optimal performance and maximize their investments, serves as the foundation for CredenceHealth solutions. Justin brings years of experience as a business, product, technology, strategy, and innovation leader in healthcare. Justin is the President of TN HIMSS and also serves on multiple non-profit boards, as well as participating as an active member in a number of other organizations, including: Nashville Health Care Council, Leadership Health Care Council, Alignment Nashville, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), and Phoenix Club of Nashville. Justin holds a Bachelors degree in Engineering Physics from Missouri State University.

Christopher R. Kuzniak M.D. – Executive Vice President and CMO / Founder

As a founder of CredenceHealth and full-time clinician, Chris identified an opportunity to operationalize a scalable solution for improving clinical care and lowering costs, by focusing on and measuring outcomes and examining the additional costs associated with adverse outcomes. Chris is a full-time surgeon who provides the perspective of a business-minded clinician in his role as CMO. He holds a Bachelors degree in Biological Engineering from The University of Georgia and a Medical Doctorate degree from the Medical College of Georgia.

Marty Fitzgerald – Executive Vice President and COO

Marty brings to CredenceHealth over fifteen years of experience designing and implementing information technology solutions, as well as a tremendous depth of knowledge and executive experience within the hospital management sector. As COO, Marty is responsible for assuring the ultimate customer experience and maximize ROI for our clients. Marty holds a Bachelors degree in Information and Decision Sciences from the University of Illinois and earned his MBA from Northern Illinois University.

Jacob Sims – Vice President and CTO

As CTO, Jacob is responsible for working with clients existing IT infrastructure and directing the development of CredenceHealth solutions to maximize integration effectiveness and maintain the usability of our interface options. Prior to joining CredenceHealth, Jacob served as the lead architect for top initiatives within leading high-growth healthcare and finance companies. Jacob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Middle Tennessee State University.

Rufus Howe – Vice President Clinical Solutions

Rufus has clinical expertise across three perspectives – as a practitioner (NP); as a population health architect; and as technologist and software designer. Rufus has authored 6 books covering disease management, hospital case management, ambulatory care, case management certification, and health care quality control and has published over 70 papers. He applies his years of expenience in both domestic and international health and population management to the CredenceHealth solutions. Rufus holds a Masters of Nursing, Family Practice Nurse Practitioner, from the Oregon Health Sciences University. Rufus also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Maine and a Bachelor of Science in Education from the State University of New York at Cortland. Rufus has also shared his passion to provide health and nutrition to those in need for over 10 years with RestoreHaiti.com.

  • More than 20 years of combined experience as an RN and electronic clinical systems designer and implementation advisor
  • Trish holds a Bachelors degree in nursing from McMaster University and a Masters of Science, Health Sciences – Informatics from TUI University. In addition, she holds a National Certification in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)

Marisa Cevasco, M.D., Clinical Research and Analytics

  • A clinician, researcher, and businesswoman.
  • As an M.D. and surgical resident Marisa is positioned on the front lines of the healthcare industry, where quality concerns are most relevant, particularly relating to clinical care delivery.
  • Marisa received her M.P.H. from Harvard, focusing her research on quality surgical outcomes.
  • Prior to her pursuit of a career in clinical medicine, Marisa was a healthcare sector analyst for McKinsey and Company in Manhattan.
  • Marisa earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania and her Medical Doctorate from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
